who makes the best air filter?
Ok. I have a 96 GT base model. Right now I have the K&N drop in filter. I keep seeing Ram Air intakes and need some opinions. The K&N FIPK is popular, as i see sometimes claimed as a cold air intake but yeah right, anyway... Injen makes a Ram Air but i just found out today... Bomz claims to have a nice Ram Air...
I need some help deciding. Anyone have any opinions?

i personally would say the K&N FIPK is best but it's quite expensive just for a filter..... all i did was make my own piping and bought a non brand cone filter and i felt the difference right of the back......i only spent about 60 dollars... filter and hardware... but from the three you have posted... i would go with the Injen one..... it includes the filter and pipe, unlike the k&n fipk

EBAY, its all the same for our N/A applications the most gains you see is 1-3 hp your better of just getting a cheap intake, they all pretty much give same gains on our cars.

ok, if i made piping to ram the air into the filter from say my bumper, how do i attatch it to the filter?
3 hp is lame.. but every little bit helps. i'm on a tight budget for now.

i will just say this... just stick to a short ram intake..... i used to have a cold air setup and it was a hassle, like when it rained you have to disconnect it and i didn't even notice a difference, it was a complete waste of time and money, ... i got tired of doin that so i just sold all the piping and now just have a short ram intake

i don't understand the short ram intakes on the 3s though.. what's confusing me is that i don't see a ram effect possible with the intake piping being stock. with a new filter on, i can see it plausible for easier breathing, but in the stock location, how is it possible to be considdered ram air? it's not in a location where speed is a factor of performance due to the air being forced into the filter.

people just call them short ram intake,not meaning that air is actually being ramed into the filter, it just means that it's not an actual cold air intake that comes out the bottom of the vehicle...

Just for the record, while we're talking about ram air, I think that the '02 Trans-Am with the ram air hood package is the only car more aggressive looking than the 3/s. IMO

i got a freaking stupid ebay intake, and the adapter for the MAS didnt fit over the flange AND the tube weighed like 10lbs and looks like it was cast from a mold and the inside of it is all rough and shitty waste of 40bucks
