trans swap

just wanted to know if anyone knows if a 95 5 speed trans will work on a older 350.and if no why not.i thought i could just change the bell houseing and make it work

It probably "can" work with some modification. But you really should be looking for a T56 six speed from a V8. The 5 speed (called the T5) is the one for the V6's, and from what I've heard it can not handle alot of power without being built up.. which in the long run would cost more than just getting a 6 speed. I also believe that the input shaft on the T5 is either shorter/longer, and possibly won't work. Can't be sure. Can only recommend you look for a T56 instead.
