brake issue?

Recently i noticed after my car has been sitting for a few hours, after i start up and take off when i hit the brakes even SLIGHTLY they are really sensitive and i almost end up kissing the dash. i have to put it in park or pump the pedal a few times to get it to feel right again. whats going on???? btw the brakes are only a few months old

only thing I can think of is the brake booster but i thought that usually makes the brakes barely work at all...

Re: brake issue?

mine does it too.

i always thought it was because of rust that built up and gave a lot more friction.
ive never tried pressing the pedal without moving.

Re: brake issue?

My Caprice and truck do that sometimes... I think it is the moisture causing rust. The first brake you do after it sits go slowly and gently with th epedal until you feel it grab. Once the rust has worn off you should be fine.
