Deck Display Not Working

I have the stock radio in my 1995 Nissan Altima and whats weird is the display on it is very very hard to read when the car isn't hot, like it just looks like its showing all the possible lines it has which makes it hard to tell what station it is on. However if it is hot outside and i start my car up i can read the radio almost perfectly. Anyone know a solution and if none will a new radio probably fix the problem?
