Question ABS Light always display on the dashboard

I've got problem on my Honda Accord 1995 V6 4 Door regarding the ABS Light always appear on the dashboard.I tried to change the ABS relay under the hood fuse box and even the driver side fuse box. I already changed my brakes and rotors and check the sensor for the ABS I assume it might be ok. How can I know if the ABS sensor in the brakes are bad or not. And what are the other things that should I check regarding this ABS problem. Thanks and I appreciate your help.

Re: ABS Light always display on the dashboard

there are alot of things that can go wrong on an abs system.. how about telling us if your check engine light is on or trying to short the 2p connector located in the right passenger kick panel and is blue plug

Question Re: ABS Light always display on the dashboard

Hello! I dont have any check engine light on my dashboard only ABS I tried to pull out the ABS relay and put it back after 10 seconds the ABS light came out again on the dashboard and their is a humming sound while I'm driving for every 3-5 minutes. So the best that I can do is to remove temporarily the ABS relay underhood, but the light on the dashboard is always on. Thanks for immediate response.

Re: ABS Light always display on the dashboard

The humming may be the accumulator charging...once charged it's supposed to hold pressure but if a valve isn't seating right or something pressure will bleed off, the accumulator pump will run again, etc...after a few cycles it knows something's wrong and sets the light.

Re: ABS Light always display on the dashboard

It may help if something is physically caught in a valve that can be dislodged during bleeding...but you may end up in a shop. there's the possibility that the module is commanding the accumulator pump operation because it's getting bad pressure readings or something, or it could be something entirely different and I'm way off base. But if it's mine, I'm gonna try what I can do, starting with clean fluid.

I strongly suggest DOT 4 synthetic fluid for replacement...it has much better temp rating and less prone to water retention and causing corrosion and rust...

Don't use DOT 5 (silicone) fluid. Not compatible with other fluids and requires repeated flushing of the entire system with denatured alcohol before installing.

DOT 4 works fine with remnants of older, lower rated fluid types...

I wonder how many people actually use the ABS regularly? I think it's important to it's health that it see some regular use...i'll always try to force a lockup or two if it's snowing or I'm on slick wet asphalt in a parking lot, or on a gravel road, etc, just to make the system operate...and I've never had an ABS fault on any of mine so equipped...even some models that were known for ABS disasters...

Might be a good idea to exercise it..

Just because the brakes are still working doesn't mean the ABS will work in a panic stop situation. If it were mine I'd try to figure out why the light is on or take it and have it fixed.

Yup, if the ABS light is lit on any car, the ABS is disabled. It won't try to operate with a malfunction, you just have normal service brakes.
