lift kits

How many of you have lifted blazers and how much did it cost? I know the suspension lift kits can cost upwards of $500, and the body lift are cheaper but i have heard that they look bad. did any of you do it yourself? It seems like a pretty big job

I need to do bushings replacement for suspension ('98 Jimmy), and am considering a modest lift...
