Rodeo stalls only with initial acceleration
95 Rodeo stalls only in initial acceleration. Bogs then dies upon initial load from stopped position. If I feather the accelerator, (and by feather I mean the little old lady from Pasadena has nothing on me) it will eventually catch and accelerate as normal with plenty of pep. If I were to step on it in a normal fashion, it just sputters and dies without catching.
I tried fuel injector cleaner and sea foam, just replaced the fuel filter. Filter did have a bunch of crud in it. I'm to the point where I have to drop it low to get it to pull out and then upshift. It's a 95 3.2 v6 , plugs look ok, haven't checked air filter or pcv or o2 sensor yet. Any ideas are very much appreciated, Thank-you |

Re: Rodeo stalls only with initial acceleration
I'd begin by checking the fuel pressure and fuel pressure regulator. If you can find the regulator, a quick check is to pull the vacuum hose off of it while the engine is running. If fuel comes out then it is bad.

Re: Rodeo stalls only with initial acceleration
Just noticed it happens in reverse as well...unless I ease out and let the engine catch very gradually it will surely stall out.
Could this also be a timing issue? |

Re: Rodeo stalls only with initial acceleration
