heater not blowing warm at idle
My daughter recently bought a 2001 Eclipse GT and she is having a problem with the heater.
She says it blows warm air when driving down the road but every time she comes to a stoplight and it sits and idles for a minute the heater starts blowing much cooler air. As soon as she takes off again it returns to blowing warm air again. What could cause this? I thought maybe the cooling system was low on water but her boyfriend recently filled it with water/antifreeze. Could an air bubble in the cooling system cause this and if so, how can you purge it from the system. If not an air bubble what else could be causing the problem? Thanks for your help. |

Re: heater not blowing warm at idle
Check coolant level, hoses, and clamps. Thermostat getting hung up or air bubbles would be my only other guess. Not to sure what to do about air bubbles expect get a flush done somewhere. Maybe someone else will have a solution for ya.
If I'm not mistake I remember this being a pretty command problem on club3g.com. Maybe you could search there but I dont know if I would talk to anyone if I was you because those guy's can be dicks.
