Trouble Code: P0172 (1.9L I4 VIN 7 Std)
Fuel Trim System Rich (Bank 1) Number of Trips to Set Code: 2 OBD II Monitor Type: CCM Details Indicators: MIL Details FUEL Details MIL Details Trouble Code Conditions: DTC P0105, P0107, P0108, P0112, P0113, P0117, P0118, P0122, P0123, P0125, P0128, P0201-P0204, P0300, P0301-P0304, P0336, P0440, P0442, P0446, P1403, P1404 and P1441 not set, engine speed at 500-4000 rpm in closed loop, ECT sensor from 140-239ºF, IAT sensor from 10 to 176ºF, calculated airflow from 2-80 gm/s, MAP sensor from 30-90 kPa, BARO sensor over 70 kPa, TP angle under 75%, and PCM detected the Idle Speed and Cruise fuel trim cells were -21.1% with the current Short Term fuel trim under 0%. Possible Causes: Base engine "mechanical" fault affecting one or more cylinders EVAP system component has failed or canister fuel saturated Fuel delivery system supplying too much fuel during cruise or idle periods (e.g., faulty fuel pump, or faulty pressure regulator) Fuel injector(s) is leaking or stuck partially open (one or more) HO2S is contaminated, deteriorated or it has failed MAP sensor is out of calibration (check the MAP sensor signal) Trouble Code: P0711 (1.9L I4 VIN 7 Auto) TFT Sensor Signal Range/Performance Number of Trips to Set Code: 1 OBD II Monitor Type: CCM Details Indicators: MIL Details CCM Details MIL Details Trouble Code Conditions: DTC P0113, P0114, P0117, P0118, P0711, P0712, P0713, P0722, P0723 and P1792 not set, ECT sensor over 160ºF on the previous startup, ECT and IAT sensors within 10ºF at startup, IAT sensor less than 104ºF, and the PCM detected the TFT sensor indicated 16ºF more than the IAT sensor right after startup (fault detected twice). Possible Causes: ECT or IAT sensor is out-of-calibration or "skewed" TFT sensor is contaminated, damaged or "skewed" TFT sensor signal or ground circuit has a high resistance fault PCM has failed TSB 01-07-30-022 contains a repair procedure for this code Trouble Code: P0741 (1.9L I4 VIN 7 Auto) TCC System Malfunction (Stuck Off) Number of Trips to Set Code: 1 OBD II Monitor Type: CCM Details Indicators: MIL Details CCM Details MIL Details Trouble Code Conditions: DTC P0336, P0716, P0717, P0740, P0743, P0745, P0756, P0758, P0761, P0763, P0766, P0768 and P0789 not set, no Speed Shaft, Noise or VSS codes set, engine started, vehicle driven at cruise speed at an engine speed over 908 rpm, TFT sensor more than 68ºF, TSS signal over 224 rpm, TCC applied for 5 seconds, and the PCM detected that the speed difference across the torque converter was more than 280 rpm (i.e., TCC was stuck off) for 7.5 seconds. Possible Causes: Converter charge valve is stuck causing the TCC "apply" pressure to be exhausted to the lube circuit Converter limiting valve stuck open Input shaft O-ring or torque converter O-ring leaking TCC apply circuit internal damage or low main line oil pressure Torque converter is damaged or it has failed TSB 99-07-30-018 contains a repair procedure for this code ECTS: Electronic Cooling Temperature Sensor. The stock unit installed in the factory was made of nylon and is one of the most common issues with the S-Series car. It has been known to cause idle and/or coolant issues. Run a search here. $20 part from www.saturnparts.net that all Saturn owners need to replace if not already. Did you replace the entire reservoir tank? Check the level when cold. These cars are indeed picky about the coolant level.
