I have a 2003 Explorer XLT, one of my friends was telling me that his explorer was upgraded to have dual climate control by a repair shop. Has anyone else done this? Is it difficult, simple, or will it require pretty much replacing the whole HVAC system? Seems like something nice to have and I can get parts, I have a salvage yard within 20 min. of my house and they have about 400 explorers/mountaineers.
Also he has had the Information ctr added. He said the mechanic told him that that was the simple part, all he had to do was add the switches and the computer and it worked with the existing instrument cluster. True?
He has added other things, such as swapping out his cloth seats for leather (Simple enough i'm sure) and installing an aftermarket sunroof (not so simple lol) and a few other things i'm not really that interested in doing, but mainly those first two. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!!!
