Connection problems

As the title says...Every time i try to download something it will download for a short period of time then just stop. The same thing happens when I try to watch a video like on youtube, part of it loads and it will play that part then it stops. Also occasionally when I click on a link it wont go and will just time out but when i click on it a few times then it will go to it kind of like it needs a little kick to actually go.

I have never had this problem until recently. I am on a cable connection and have one computer on wireless and one going straight from the router, both are doing this. Any ideas would be great!

Re: Connection problems

Can you plug your computer into your switch using ethernet? This will eliminate the Wireless as a potential problem, and we can start troubleshooting your internet connection.

Agreed, that's where I'd start.

Re: Connection problems

Sorry I forgot to mention I already tried that. No luck with it.

Re: Connection problems

Once your connected only using ethernet, no wireless, open a command prompt (start, run, cmd, enter) and type 'ping google.com -t' and let it run overnight.

In the morning, press Ctrl+C to cancel, and post here how many packets were lost. In fact, copy and paste the results here.
