SAFC on a non mass air flow sensored engine

I've been wondering about this for a while. We have a '90 civic hatch we are working on and we have a spare SAFC 2. We are about to start the turbo process and need fuel management. It would be great to use the SAFC 2 on it, but the swapped d16z6 (i think thats what its called...im not a honda person) doesnt have a mass air flow sensor. So at first I thought that it just wouldnt work because in my mind a safc is just pointless because the thing that it controls (the MAF sensor) isnt there. But, alot of guys on here run safc's on 420A's which IIRC have no MAF sensors. So how does this work?

It uses the MAP sensor off the intake manifold. On mine, the MAP wire at the ECU is split; one end goes into SAFC, other end comes back and goes to ECU. MAP and MAF are basically the same thing, just work a little different.

Ok. then so what would I set it as? Like hotwire, karmen or what?
