I don't know anything about it off hand but if you want a good place to look go to www.thirdgen.org they have just about everything you'd ever want to know and more about everything on 82-92 Camaro/Firebirds (I'm assuming that yours fits this discription) I'm sure they have this info for you if not they have a forum too and the guys there know a lot about stuff like this. I hope this helps you find the info you want.

Cool still need decoded

Firebird, thanks for the cool website but I think with all the 73 in the information from the tag its from that year. So the search goes on. Again thanks.

I may be able to help you but the number you have does not look right.
By that number the transmission would be newer than 1980 the older numbers were a letter and 3 numbers, or a letter 2 numbers and followed by a "D" or "N".

Check these places for more numbers

1 Governor cover should be stamped.
2 ink stamped on bell housing (probably gone by now)
3 the id plate on side of trans ( i assume this is where you got the previous numbers.

Question tranny tag number

Thanks for the reply's, the number I posted was off the tag, and I doubled checked it, it reads the same. I was told it came out of an old GTO , but it probably came out of a newer truck, well 80 something. Again Thanks. still looking though.
