Re: ashtray/aux power light needs replaced???
Alright, well I had the problem of my Jetta's lighter not working (I use it for a cell phone charger) and I had noticed my ashtray light wasnt working either but I wasn't concerned with that. So I opened up the fuse box (this is located at the end of the dash on the driver's side to acess this you must have the driver's door open) found the fuse for the lighter discovered that it was blown replaced it and both the lighter and the ashtray light worked again.
But, if that is not the case and you actully need to replace the ashtray lightbulb then yes the screw your looking for is in the ashtray. You simply have to remove the red ashtray bowl and shazzam! there it is staring you in the face. Glad to be of service -DrSmiley

stealership made my buy the whole light unit all you have to do is remove ashtray (little tight) remove torx screw pull unit forward and out either buy unit or replace bulb To replace bulb...take unit apart It uses the same bulb as heater control switch bulb $2.60 but stalership won't tell you that Good Luck |
