Exclamation parting out my cavalier...

got in a frontal collision the only things damaged were the front bumber, hood, and drivers side fender and headlights. i'll have photos up later on but it was minor... i just don't want to pay 160 for parts and god knows what for labor to fix it...

sooooooooo.... the rest of the car is for sale... name your part and price.. semi-reasonable offers will not be refused.

but i want at least $100 for the rims.

Re: parting out my cavalier...

Before you decide not to fix it, you might try to find a community college in your area that has an automotive program. They Their labor is VERY low compared to a body shop. When I was in school, we charged $15/hr, where a regular shop in the area would charge $60-$95

Re: parting out my cavalier...

yeah I was going to have one of those places paint my car... only problem is they would have taken half the quarter to do it, seeing how they would only work on it for a maybe an hour a day...a few days a week....

i'll look into that.

UPDATE: i got pulled over yesterday night as prince georges county police noticed that my tail lights were out even though my headlights were on. i had to explain to the officer how just 20 minutes ago i had noticed some blown fuses when i stopped at a gas station. i replaced them and the new fuses blew immediately. so my hazards, dash/hvac, back ups, brake lights, and regular tail lights do not come on. only my signal lights and front headlights come on. the turn signal lights on the front on both sides don't work though. he could have made me sit and wait for a tow truck or until daylight but just told me to go home and not drive the car at night anymore.
