92 toyota pick up speed sensor problems

i have a 1992 toyota pickup 4x4 with a 3.0 v6 and auto transmission. the speedometer does not work i pulled the harness of of the sensor that is on the tail shaft of the transfer case and tested all the wires i had power coming down, the ground was good then i went to test the third wirewitch should be sending pwer up to the speedo well i hooked up my tester and when i grounded the tester the speedo mooved not a fancy tester just a light this is wierd and i cant figure it out and i am tired of the tickets can any one help me

I don't have any experience with the electronic speedo.
Check the Factory Service Manual for trouble shooting instructions.
There is a FSM thread at the top of the main page that links to FSMs.

chech the speed sensor gear on the gear box or the cluster unit not sending pulse to ecu,chech harness or speedometer cable
