whats the size socket needed to remove the oil drain plug on a 2001 elantra?

Grab a handfull and see what works. 14MM or 15MM would be my estimation.

Wait, you got a problem right there because IT IS a 17mm box that you need ....

Also, if it's not a 17mm (for some strange reason) I don't get why you ask when you could just do as cmhj2000 said : grab 14mm to 17mm box and try to find the right one!??!?!

the largest size I have is a 17 mm and so I need to go buy it because the 17 is too small, so I was hoping i could find the exact one so I could just go buy one instead of many.
