2004 silverado acts like it comes out of gear

I can be driving down the road, slow down for a turn, then give it gas,the trans acts like it is neutral.Push the auto 4 wheel drive switch and it goes, while I'm moving then I push the 2 wheel drive button it shifts back to 2 wheel then everything is fine again.Any body else have this problem?

Sometimes it will chatter and hesitate and then figure itself out and go. I don't have to hit 4wd button. It helps if you let off the gas and reapply.

relax, I was just messing with you.

sounds like your tranny is not shifting correctly. When was the last time you had it flushed?

Re: 2004 silverado acts like it comes out of gear

Does it do this often? Mine did similar things, normally from a stop about twice every 10,000 miles since it was new. I had one of the PCM updates flashed in about 10,000 miles back and it hasn't happened since. Call a dealer to see if there is an update, I think it was called a driveability update. Less than $100. I got mine before the warranty went out so it was free.
