Isuzu Bighorn speedo stopped working

First of all my speedo died then about 1.8k my Trans Check light came on.
I have read other threads about the tranny light, but have not seen the speedo problem mentioned. My Alt is good and battery is new and belts are fine and all connections and earths seem fine also. Fuses are also good.
I suspect a speed sensor but any conformation or advice would be helpful.
