92 starts sometimes.....

whenever i leave my blazer sitting for awhile and come back to start it, the thing will crank over and start to run, only at idle however. Whenever it is idling it tends to shoot out a good amount of white smoke. If I try to drive it the car tends to start surging right when i hit the gas, it will start surging from like 300rpm to 1800rpm to keep it going, after this it usually stalls out and i cant start it again.

I know ive got good spark too

suggestions??

If that white smoke smells like raw gasoline, you likely have either broken fuel lines or leaky fuel regulator inside the intake manifold.
Check that smoke but keep fire away from it until you know.

Re: 92 starts sometimes.....

it doesnt smell like gas so it seems like its just a lot of water in the tailpipe or something.

i did notice though ( i thought this could be a clogged fuel filter at first). when i was changing out my fuel filter i also tried to drain a little gas by turning my key on and off using the fuel pump to pump it out. One of my friends noticed that it was only pumping a little bit out, he was saying that a normal fuel pump should really shoot the gas out of there instead of it just barely leaking out.

is this the kinda problems that a bad fuel pump could bring??

If only i could get my hands on a fuel pressure gauge.....
