99 Bonneville fuel too lean?

I'm having yet another issue with my bonneville. The code we are getting is fuel too lean. We are trying to locate the mass airflow sensor on the car, so if anyone can help us locate it, that would be great. Also, if anyone else has any pointers on what else we can do? The car runs great while in drive but sputters and idles rough and wants to die. The O2 sensor was replaced July of 2006 and had a complete tune-up on March of 2006 when the manifold intake cracked as well as had the starter and battery replaced. We've stuck over $2000 in the car in the last year and a half and would like to do as much as we can on our own right now without running it back into the shop.

Thanks

Re: 99 Bonneville fuel too lean?

Welcome to AF, the exact code would be helpful here. A lean condition can be caused by a vacuum leak, egr sticking open, low fuel pressure, engine misfire to name a few. The maf is in the throttle body and could be dirty or bad, but other scans and checks should be done before that is considered.
