Rice originally meant mods that don't don't do anything, stickers, big wings, z3 fenders, huge hood scoops, stupid crap like that that doesn't do anything for your car. A lot of people have misunderstood the true meaning of rice, and they call everything rice.

Ah men to that one..
But what ive been told, is that yes, it not only means that your mods are very very easy and dont do crap at all, but thatthey are very very cheap mods, i guess as is the price of rice....cheap. why cant people just say that it looks like crap, or is retarded. i mean, spam is cheap, so can these "rice cars" be considered spammy? or "meat in a can cars"?

it aint so bad to go cheap. but if your cheap mods throw the car off and you cant tell they probably didnt pay much for ugly car like that then its ricey.. when i see a car with shitty mods like huge fin.. thats it . just a huge fin im like holy hell bad decision dudeee. rice i could understand in a situation like that. but nothing wrong with stylish fenders or even body kits even though i hate body kits. i mean they look good but i would never put one on my car. there just to much for a car. i like the sleeck look. i just think this place doesnt congragulate enough nothing but discouragment is spread. stop discouraging and fuckn i say encourage good mods.
and altezzas are not good mods.
thats one thing i would consider ricey but who am i to talk i just took mine off 3 days ago. thank goddddddd...
its like fuckn no reason to post your car at this place if it doesnt have a giant body kit on it and nice and painted flawless. because people call it rice because you got the wheels without the body kit or the exterior mods without the intense engine work. or its rice . fuck that. i let people know thers cars are cool if they post em. unless there ballen altezas again no room to talk.

im just babbling anyway. later

i have a question about rice too.

if someone spends 1k on headers, intake and exhuast and makes his/her car very VERY loud, and spends 10k on body kits, wings, extravagent paint, swooping or bulging hoods, and all that crap, then is that a rice car?

what about one with just intake, headers, and exhuast, but with the body stock. is THAT a rice car?

the first one has a big show to go ratio and the second one has a small show to go ratio, but they're both the same speed. which ratio is correct in determining a "ricey car". because, wouldn't price also have to fit in there? if the 'go' mods are the same amount of money, but the first guy spends much more money on 'show' mods does that make the first guy ricey? or are both of them ricey because they're both 'show' in terms of the sound of the exhuast, intake, blah blah, the internals pretty much.

i hear the word 'rice' overused alot today too. i saw a nice clean 95 accord with just some fins, a clean silver paint job, and a bumper, but only had an exhuast, but i thought that it still looked nice and clean. but then someone else said that it was too ricey because he put 15k on all of the interior and the outside but only a couple hundred on 'performance'. AHHHH, I DONT KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. anyways, yeah. how do you determine 'rice'? haha, sorry for anyone who actually read through this crap. just wonderin...

Its my beleif that Rice can be determined by the ammount of non functional crap on your car- meaning alot of stickers of products that you don't have, or an all stock car wit an intake and a 3 foot aluminum wing. I know I have a yellow civic myself, with the buddyclub kit, z3 fenders, and a custom interior, but people could make fun of me all they want, because I have a worked b18c under the hood and I have the purge for the nitrous out my z3 fenders. I can back up my shit talking. but some people have the big apc windsheild stickers, and the glow shift knobs, and 17"rims at stock height, and altezzas...and they want to race me, or other people. thats lack of respect, and that is a ricer, who drives rice. just my 2 cents- if you have heart and soul in your car, weather it be show or go-or both- then your not driving rice, cuz your gonna do it right.

what is 'rice' you say?
well, to tell u the truth, i really wouldnt know

around here noone uses the term 'rice' to put down a car...
i think 'rice' has been largely a take-off of what we use to describe asian imports with "all show no go"
see what we've been calling em for quite a long while has been riceburners

we call a car a riceburner simply if the guy drives and shows off his car in the manner of a true sports automobile, and largely attributes his car's success to its body work, altezza lights, i/h/e combination

now, (this is only my HO) but IMHO, i/h/e is not worthy of sports car status, nor does it qualify a driver to put on ground effects and a huge wing - simply just because it has no freakin purpose, these guys all drag (as theyve never heard of autoX) so why would u need a huge freakin body kit? a body kit would be suitable (well, at least front and rear spoilers, not so much side skirts) for a road course, where this would improve one's road-handling ability, who needs to be held down by a huge freakin wing if ur trying to go fast in a straight line? why on earth would someone want to increase their drag like that?

for aesthetic approval, exactly why those who toss craploads of money at their exterior lights and body kits and just throw in i/h/e to be cool with the crowd are labeled as riceburners, because thats about all the power their car can muster

and that, ladies and gentleman, is my thesis on the origin of term we know today as RICEBURNER
