Unhappy poor Alfa :(

I am absolutley gutted, completely heartbroken, utterly devastated, for it looks my beautiful Alfa Romeo 156 2.5 V6 will be no more after an accident this morning

I was driving to work in down-town Genoa in pretty much peak-hour traffic, I was in teh Right (slow) lane, but had to turn left soon so I indicated I was going to turn left The road was clear, but a van was moving along in the right lane somewhat fast, he was about 20 meters behind me and I assumed he was gonig to let me i. So I begin to move left, but the manic prick in decides to speed up and cut me off, causing me to jerk the wheel right and curb the wheel, which in turn slowed the car down causeing a lorry coming up behind me to skid in the end hitting the right side of my cars rear end, and shunting the car into a BMW 320i waiting in the traffic

The car in the end was towed to the dealership and we did a full inspection, so far the right 3/4 panel was squashed into an accordian like shape, the right tail-light ceased to exist as did most of the backing and the bulb, my Remus exhaust is rendered useless, as the muffler looks to have split (can't confirm that though) the rear bumper was morphed and hanging loose, the petrol flap is missing, as is the rear number plate and 2.5V6 badge, to top it off the bootlid has moved forward about 20mm and is horribly dented. Also at the front end, the left headlight is broken, the bumper bushed back, scratched and dented, similar scenario to part of the bonnet and the grille is hanging loose (left side) To put it simply my car looks absolutley pants.

Luckily enough I wakled away without a scratch, but GODDAMMIT now I have all this god-damn insurance paper work and am stuck commuting in a Diesel FIAT Estate I also have the option of writing the car off and having the insurance replace it with another one, as it is less than six months old, but I shouldn't have to.

If that van driver is here, then I give you this :finger4:

Unhappy

Oh, what a pity. That's horrible. Hopefully you're not injured... Will you re-buy another Alfa ?
Do you have pics of the 156, after and/or before the crash ?

I'm very sorry, Jimmy! I really can imagine the empty feeling you must be having inside

So was this accident considered your fault?

Stephanel- I'm definitley getting another Alfa AND I am going to make it better than my current one The only injury I have is two cuts above my lip and trust me I've done worse shaving - The irony is I had made a deal with a mate to borrow his Digi-cam next weekend, I guess that'll be stalled until I get a new car

ales- No it wasn't, witness accounts said that he van-driver was at fault.....And guess what van it was, a FED-EX van

I know what its like to lose a beauty. It just takes time (and some cash even after insurance) to rebuild. No it wont ever be the same again but you can go on. I'm sorry about your alfa.

it didnt help that he let it sit in the driveway outside my window all crumpled

sorry bout the Alfa.. they are such nice cars and so good to the owners

sue fed ex..they are a big company..make a big case out of it and how their drivers are bad ones
