dash/tail lights dont work

I own a 1992 Lincoln town car and the dash/tail lights went out. I checked the fuses and they are all in good condition. I them proceeded to take apart the dash and I don’t know how to remove the light switch. Is there anyone out there that would be able to help me on this issue?

Re: dash/tail lights dont work

Hey, thank you, that is just what I needed. But do you know what might have caused the dashlights and the tail lights to go out at the same time?

That sure sounds like the switch went bad... I haven't looked at your wire diagram, but generally speaking, if there's power going into the switch, and not coming out from it..

In the later years the LCM handles all this, I don't know for sure on your 1992.
I have a 1992 FSM in ISO format on my webpage if you want one..

EDIT:
You can also get Chilton's Online from time to time

Re: dash/tail lights dont work

Thank you again. I have fixed the problem and it was mixture of three things. First I took apart the dash and found that the wire for the dash and tail light to the switch was fried so I put a new wire on it. Then I took apart the back lights and found that one of the lights was out so I replaced it. And the last one was the fuse was fried so I replaced that also. And when I replaced the tail light my blinker started to work again also.
