race my friends?

Well i have an automatic 91 base stealth with no upgrades at the moment...the only thing i am going to be doing in the near future is changing plugs, plug wires, intake, oil, and the oil filter...my one friend has a 2003 standard grand am with the 2.2 liter 4 banger and my other friend has a 2000 plymouth neon standard with a 2 liter 4 banger...with no upgrades to either of them...and the one im most worried about is an 07 standard cobalt with exhaust...will i be able to beat these guys in a race or no?

probly not. The atx 3s is slow enough, the SOHC ATX is a total dog. Sorry.

its really that slow? haha...i was thinkin from like highway speeds i might be able to beat them...i know my car has a higher top speed than all of theirs...

why do you say four banger? the whole term four banger just bugs me. every time i hear someone say it, it reminds me of a red neck V8 buff. like right now in your post it sounds like your trying to put down your freinds by saying they have 4 bangers. And you do have a sohc v6 that puts out what about 160hp i guess it makes sense to put other people down when their car has 2 less cyclinders and can still beat you.

what do you mean by standard cobalt don't they have like 80 billion different types of engine sizes?

well the lowest model has what 140hp i'm guessing thats the one you want to race. well i just read a mag and some shop said the exhaust they put on it gave the car and extra 9 hp i think or it was lower, but more then 5 for sure.

i think you would lose to your freinds but you should race them anyways. races are so much fun!!!!!

edit: i didn't mean to bag on you about your car it just gets me mad when people say 4 banger. i feel like there putting the cars down even though they have so much potential. well even though your car does not have that much hp and can't beat your freinds cars your car is still sexier then their cars and most cars on the road!!!!!!

Just because your speedo says 160 doesnt mean anything.

Pish posh dont listen to these guys, I am not sure if you have DOHC or SOHC, but in either case you have a great chance from a roll, tell them you have shitty tires or something and only want to race from a 30 roll, when the second gears in these atx kick in the car only pulls hard, you will definitely have a chance against all the cars except the cobalt if its stick, if its atx you will eat it.

even from a dig...from my experience the neon stands no chance...he's got(with a sohc 4cyl) 132hp. even tho his car weighs about 200lbs(or more) less than ur car, its too much of a power difference for him to make up.

unless by standard car u mean they are 5spds to ur auto...then i say the cobalt and neon might fight off the line. but once ur 2nd comes u should b ok

wats the weights on the 3/s?

i know the turbos are around 3750 but sohc has nothing special like awd or aws or as heavy of an engine.

In case you missed something, when you want power the more displacement you have the better off you are. Generally more cylinders = more displacement. 4 bangers are just that 4 bangers. Is it a put down? It can be, but who cares, hell my daily driver has 3 cylinders and my truck has 6.

Base Stealth = SOHC.

Also from a roll the SOHC suffer because all their power is down low.

just throw on a small nitrous shot and dont tell them

at least doing that, you can take it off and put it on your next car when you decide to upgrade.

4 banger is just what i am used to saying...im not trying to put anyone down...i just feel weird saying anything else...the cobalt is the ls model..i thought all cobalts had the 2.2 liter that made like 140 hp except for maybe the SS..? but anyways...i do mean 5 speed when i say standard...what would be the estimated 0-60 for my car? around 8.5 or 9 seconds?

Your thinking to hard my friend with your SOHC atx, and his underpowered manual cobalt, the race is going to be close, so just race him and let us know, dont think to hard run him, if you lose put $100 on the next race and spray your motor with a 50 shot.
