Key-less entry ?

When I bought my '98 Jimmy, it only came with two generic keys no keyless entry remotes. I first wondered if my vehicle came with this option, but in the process of replacing my ignition switch, I found a black box mounted to the underside of the lower dash panel that said something like "remote function actuation module". I am assuming (I know what happens when I assume) that this is the brain box for the keyless entry system ??? If that is the case I think I could get a remote for it from "E-Bay" Any idea's ? (probably cheaper than the dealer?) Thanks ..Dave

Re: Key-less entry ?

yea that sounds like the keyless entry module. to confirm factory keyless entry, look on the RPO code sheet in the clovebox for the code AU0. then you can buy a remote on ebay for about $30.
