Exclamation S10 / Sonoma turbo?

I asked in the S10/Sonoma section, but there's like no activity there. I'm more than likely going to be turboing my brothers 99 GMC Sonoma 2.2l auto. Does anyone here know anything about them? I've been his mechanic for awhile now, but don't know like how much the block can handle stock. Will stock FIs work well enough running at 6-9 psi daily? We're going to piece the kit together. This is basically what I've figured out I need so far.

-T3/4 turbo
-Log-style Manifold
-External Wastegate (atmosphere dump)
-FMIC
-2.5" hard piping
-MBC
-SAFC
-2.5" or 3" exhaust with Y-to-dual tips
-Boost gauge/EGT/possible Wideband
-BOV (atmosphere dump)
-AFPR

I don't know if there's going to be fuel cut a CEL from the added pressure. And I can't find anyplace that knows anything.

There must be an s10 forum out there somewhere other than AF. Do a google search and you'd be suprised what you'll find. Hell, there's probably a few write-ups on it already.

Dont even waste your time homie. This got essentially the same 2.2L pushrod I4 I have in my Cavalier. From what I have heard, they dont take shit for power before you start breaking shit. Not to mention the low redline, by the time you get a turbo spooled its redline. This isnt the same as turboing say a Honda or something that is designed for alteast a little bit of "sporty" that 2.2 is designed to function as cheaply as GM could do it.

Build on hold until I get a good paying job, either in school or once I get out. At that time a full tear down and complete rebuild should be in order.

I know for the V6 S10 the Chevy 350 is a direct drop in. Is it the same for this model? That may be a cheaper and more powerful alternative.

Is this something specific to the newers S10s? My 84 had a 350/TH700 swap, and it was anything but direct drop in. Well worth it though.
