95 Cutlass Supreme stalling

I am about to buy a Cutlass Supreme from a friend and she said that when she drove it it would stall out for no apparent reason. She took it to a repair shop and they ran diagnostic and other tests on it and could not find anything wrong with it. They said the engine is fine and so is the trans, and that there are no electrical problems. Someone has said that maybe it is the distributor. Being that the repair shop could find nothing wrong with it, does anyone have an idea of what it could be? I do not want to buy it if it is going to be too expensive to repair. Please help!!!

Re: 95 Cutlass Supreme stalling

Welcome to AF, no dist. in that engine, either one as none was mentioned. There are a littany of reasons that a stall can occur, first the symptoms must be recorded, hot, cold, easy restart, idling ,slowing down, this info is the #1 step towards any diagnosis.
