347 build

im thinking about bilding a 347 but i was woundering if i could keep all the stock stuff, like fuel injectors, heads, intake. Every thing just get a 347 kit and put it in. What would happen if i did that, would the engine be starving for fuel and air and detonate. thanks.

Re: 347 build

I would say you would have to get at least 42# injectors along with a adjustable fuel pressure regulator. Then you would have to get a recalibrated mass airflow sensor and then have a chip put in the computer for the new stuff.

Re: 347 build

You wont need 42's. But 24's wouldn't hurt. Other than that I don't see why not.

Why the heck would you put 42lbs in that engine, way too big.

Yes, 24lbs would be perfect.

Re: 347 build

I am not all that hip on Mustang Speed density. On Skyline GTRs, the high powered GTRs run better and put down more power when the convert over to S/D, so if you can find someone who knows a lot about the Mustangs version, you probably will find yourself with a really nice set up.
