Yes there is a problem.
Have you been having some strange things on electrical?
It needs checked out.
That is why they put a check eng or ses light on there.
If light is on there should be a code stored in the computer.
A lot of parts places will read codes for free.
But a code does not say replace the part but to check it out first.
Do not buy parts untill you get the code no. and post it back here and someone will help you with it.

Unless you dis-connect the battery, the codes will be stored in the EEM (Computer).

Like MT-2500 said, The Code's will get stored in the car's computer...
Get your local AUTO ZONE to read the stored codes for free, and write them down and post them back here for some help ......

Re: SES light 97 blazer

many emmision trouble codes are automaticaly cleared if they do not recure during certain paramaters such as number of drive cycles since the trouble was last seen. if you have an intermitent SES light showing up and the vehicle drives normaly the most likely problem is in the emmision controls. you realy need to get the trouble codes read as soon as you notice the SES light come on, or at least within one or two drive cycles.
