dying out when i stop why?

ok i drive a civic 99 dx sohc coupe
ever since the first time i installed my intake i noticed at stops it would die out. but i disconected the battery and the problem was corrected for a while. now this morning i get in my car and it wouldnt start. luckily i was on a hill and i poped the clutch in reverse and it started. well ever since this morning when i get to a stop at 0 mph it starts to die and sputter a bit, then it just cuts off. hardly even noticible. why the hell does it do this.?

did you install the intake yourself? cuz it sounds like you messed something else up when you did that. i have never heard of that problem, take it to a shop i guess. is the check engine light coming on? because if it is, you can use the wires under the glove compartment to test what the problem is. it will blink the light so many times and that indicates what's wrong.

i say change your fuel filter and use some fuel injection cleaner, both of these are inexpensive and will rule out a common problem. also maybe your car is running too lean, you can try and add more fuel and see if that helps

im no expert but it sounds like when your cutting off your battery its reseting your computer, once you ride it for awhile it might be reseting those setings. sorry, i wasnt to much help, just something to think about since resetting the comp makes it work fine
