CAI Q about vacume hose

Hi I have a 96 accord and am currently installing a cold air intake. Just one problem , there is a bit coming off the original intake that conects to another box which starts the vacume hose piping. It appears that when the engine is taking in more air, more pressure is created in this second box then depending on that presure, this box creates a certain vacume pressure. ATM I have just left this hose off but am worried that it will cause damage to the engine. Or if this is just a part of the emisions control. The car still runs fine and sounds great with the new intake tho.

Any help would be great thankyou.

if its the hose im thinking of, youll be fine not connecting it, it should just be part of the PCV system. All it does is take the gases from the PCV system and recycle them into the intake to be burned off.
