02 Grand Prix Project

i have the 3.1L se, 4 door.

I'm looking into getting a new car but I figured it would just be cheaper to work on the one I got.

So if anyone could give me tips on puttin some muscle in it or any suggestiongs would be great.

First I was looking at cosmetic, but I'd rather have the engine a beast and then the outside look like crap, than have the outside look awesome but see the taillights in the end if you know what I mean.

Now everywhere I go I always see the 3.8l superchargers and it sucks. That and I see a lot of the two doors.

Anyway would it be possible to put a bigger engine than the 3.8 supercharger or something with a lot more horsepower.

(i've said this before but I'm mechanically illerterate at this time and being but I'm willing to learn) thanks for the help I really appreciate it!

Re: 02 Grand Prix Project

do like a buddy of mine did to his vega at the shop. Drop in a small black 350 and a turbo350 trans. would require a lot of fabrication and probably isnt worth your time or money. Still gotta watch out though, some people have modded gtps that put out close to 400 horses.

Re: 02 Grand Prix Project

There is no practical way to get more power out of the 3.1, especially for someone with no experience/mechanical ability. If you want a GP with more power, sell yours and get a GTP.

Re: 02 Grand Prix Project

with the 3.1 you could put a Cold Air intake on it, to get some more power. Another thing you could do is add sport brakes and Rotors. Mabey get some grills new front bumper and rear bumper. For the engine, you could get some better spark plugs and wires. Mabey some different injectors if they even make them for the 3.1, but like the guy above me said, all this stuff isnt really gonna get you that much power out of that engine. IT will help with some minor power but there is nothing like starting out with a GTP 3.8 Supercharged where they actually sell parts for it.
