replacing wheel speed sensor
Hello, I was told I need to replace my right wheel speed sensor, the garage told me that I had to replace the whole hub butwhen calling the part store they say the sensor is sold seperatly and that you don't have to replace the whole hub! How is this replaced? Is it something simple that can be replaced at home or is it something that should go to the garage? Thanks

Re: replacing wheel speed sensor
i think you are problably right! mine is a 96 grand am-these share the same hub-sensor set ups as Cavaliers and Sunfires. easy: remove the wheel, turn whell to give you access to it, unplug connector (these are known to fray) and carefully pry out the old sensor-a little at a time-they break easy. i used one off a cavalier-no problem. they are handy 100 bucks new or more. i paid 10 bucks for three at a scrap yard-first one made light go out. many cars are hub/sensor assembly-and maybe after a certain year the Grand Ams are too but my 96 is definately replacable NOTE: Cavalier-Sunfire sensors mount opposite, so a right front on a Grand Am is left front on Cav-Sunfire
