Horn won't stop !!!!

Help!! The horn on my 91 98TS won't stop. It sounds like when an alarm goes off, pulsing on and off. I tried pulling the horn relay, but that won't stop it, so I've disconeected the horns at the connectors. Any ideas? Any help would be appreciated. I'm also havng the same problem with my son's 91 Buick PA so I'm posting the same request on that forum. Thanks.

Re: Horn won't stop !!!!

Do you have an aftermarket alarm or theft deterrent system?

Re: Horn won't stop !!!!

Yes to your question, but I removed all the boxes for the aftermarket remote start/alarm months before I had this problem. At the time I had, and intermitantly still do have a voltage leak under the dash, so I that may have been the cause. I just never got around to installing it back in after verifying it wasn't the cause of the voltage leak.

Re: Horn won't stop !!!!

Since pulling the horn relay did not work the problem is most likely a short somewheres between the horn relay and the horns. Or one or both of your horns may be bad or the wiring to them. Not uncommon for a horn coil to short out. The horn relay once energized passes 12 volts to the horns so you could check at the horn electrical connectors with a DMM plus check the ground.
