Late Night Run

well, i got off work about 10pm and was heading home which is about a 45min drive. On the way home there is a huge 6 lane over pass that goes about 2 or 3 mile strip. At the very beginning of the bride is a redlight. On the way home i pulled up at this light and was sitting it alone for like a few mins no other cars insight. I see extremely bright blue lights coming and hear an after market exhaust. When the car pulled even with me at this redlight, i noticed it was a Honda S2000. All i could tell he had was exhaust, but it was a nice car. He revd it up and started rocking back in forth (5-speed). I revved up and after what seemed like 5min alone the light changed and we both went. I got a good jump on him of about a car or 2. We ran down the entire bridge and about a 1/4 to 1/2 a mile he started 2 pull on me. He pulled 2 about the point where his lights where at my back bumper. Once i reached 5th gear i was pulling far away. by the tiem we crossed the bridge i was about 2 or 3 cars ahead of him.

Re: Late Night Run

Hmmm IDK. S2000 should win but I suppose a a CAI and catback might put a SVX into high 14's. And with a bad driver in the S2000 and a really good driver in the SVX I suppose it could happen. I wouldn't think by much but maybe able to just edge him out.

Re: Late Night Run

anything can happen on the streets. but you did race pretty up to a pretty high speed. i was expecting your car to get him down low and him eventually passing you at around 100mph.

oh well like i said anything can happen on the streets, and btw all S2000's have a 6 speed.

Re: Late Night Run

it does seem very unlikely that a slightly modded SVX can take out an even slightlier modded s2000,, but yeah anything is possible on the street. maybe the honda just had a muffler and not any real exhaust work that would free up some ponies. maybe he hasn't had an oil change in 35,000 miles. or maybe ..but if you did really beat him,, then congrats on an improbable feat.

hahah not that it matters. n/a mods on a s2k is like wiping your ass with money. intake, headers and exhaust will yield a whopping 2 peak whp over stock. not worth the money, and they sound like shit with a big muffler.

Re: Late Night Run

like i said i have no idea what he had, all i know is he had Dual Soda Cans and it didnt sound that great. might have just been mufflers if they come dual exhaust stock. Idk if they do or not.

Re: Late Night Run

Anything can happen on the street, yes.

Beat a mid 16 second Accord by three and a half cars, and a lower 14 second S2K by two to three? No.

Re: Late Night Run

Either something was wrong with his car, he wasn't trying, or he was a REALLY bad driver. i doubt your svx is putting out the 230hp now that its like 10~ years old?

Re: Late Night Run

There are many reasons why this thread raises the BS flag but the main question I have is:
Didn't the SVX only come with a 4-speed automatic? If so, why isn't the 5-speed conversion listed among your mods?

u know i just lost lost respect for the svx...decent car but only a 4spd auto...wtf was subaru thinking.

neways an s2k runs around 240hp enginewise. they come duel exhaust stock. and yea nothing really ups the power without adding turbo or sc. ur advangtage would b the awd off the line...but once he passes 3k kiss his ass...cause that's all u'd see. i ran one with my stealth tt. he was only one length off by the end. and i can personally run 13.5 1/4's with my car. granted i raced him after 3rd gear started grinding. s2k's are damn quick maybe not off the line but like i said upper rpm u really dont stand a chance.
