Motor swap by year and type

Hi All:

Working on two Nissan 240 SX cars

1. 1989 12 valve 2.4 liter engine
2. 1993 16 valve 2.4 liter engine.

My son wants to remove the 16 valve engine and install it in the 1989 auto.

Questions:

1. Do we need to swap the entire electrical cabling from the 1993 into the 1989?

2. Does anyone know of any technical issues that are difficult to overcome to accomplish the engine swap of the newer 16 valve engine into the older chassis.

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Jim

Re: Motor swap by year and type

easiest way to do the swap is to go ahead an swap out the 89-90 harness's (engine and tranny) for the new 91-94 harness's. you also have to use the newer ecu (as anyone could have guessed), swap is straight forward. plug in play if you have the harness's
