01 T&C squeaking sound when stops

It's coming from the rear. The back end lifts up somewhat when braking and until it comes to a complete stop and the rear lowers back down is when the squeak happens. So I checked some more, when I reverse and stop, and go forward and stop, it will squeak when it comes to a rest. Any ideals? Thanks

can you make it squeak by bouncing the rear corner of the van?,I think yours also has the rear swaybar and maybe the bushings are going bad.

Re: 01 T&C squeaking sound when stops

Yes it has the rear sway bar, and I did notice that the bushings are somewhat dry rot, however I did try to make it bounce but it did not make any squeak noise like I hear when it settles from a stop. Boy this thing is hard to bounce, I couldn't get it to move much. Could the leaf spring bushings cause this squeak? I did notice that where it mounts to the housing near the rear is very rusted, I don't know if the bushings are bad though. The rust is just on the leaf spring mount itself, nowhere else. Any other tests I can do? Thanks

If you suspect a particular location of squeaking, if it's metal on metal, spray it with WD40 or the like. If it's a bushing spray it thoroughly with a silicone lubricant. It's a process of elimination.
