HELP 99 Metro 1.3 No Spark

I have a 99 Chevy Metro with the 1.3 It is distributor less. I have replaced the coil packs because one was shorting out to the valve cover. I replaced the plug wires. I replaced the camshaft and crankshaft position sensor. As far as I can tell I hooked my volt meter up to the coil wiring and there is 12V going to the coil all the time and the other two wires are ALWAYS grounded. It Doesn't sound right to me. I traced the wiring all the way back to the ecu and it is the same there. I was wonering if it could be ecu or anybody have any ideas????? HELP. I can't afford to taKE IT IN.

Re: HELP 99 Metro 1.3 No Spark

I've never looked at spark plug signals this way. Have you tried a spark plug tester. I suppose that would be hard to use on the plug that is under the coil.

You cannot get meaningful results on signals that are not dc or a single sinewave (ac). Things like pulses can only be correctly interpreted on an oscilloscope. If you want to look at this kind of signal buy yourself an automotive scope. The meter will give you some form of averaged reading - either the mean or root mean square reading.

Jesus. I'm sorry you're metro is still down. Are you getting fuel? Have you tested for spark via spark tester? Have you checked for blown fuses?

Re: HELP 99 Metro 1.3 No Spark

I have a spark tester that I got from Cornwell and am not getting any spark. There are two spark plug wires and neither of them are getting spark. I pulled one of my old coils out of the box that still worked and plugged it in to the harness and got the same. No spark. I am getting plenty of fuel as every time I pull my spark plugs they are wet. I have a fuel pressure tester and it has good fuel pressure. It has good compression. I have the factory service manual and I have ran several tests and everything always comes down to "replace pcm". I would hate to do that and it still not run. Any ideas?

Re: HELP 99 Metro 1.3 No Spark

I put the new ecu in and I get fire now. I got it started once and it was loading up with fuel real bad. I killed it and pulled the plugs and they are soaked. I clean them off and try to start it and it will try to start and nothing. If I pull the plugs again they are wet with fuel again. I am not thinking map sensor. TPS sensor tested out good. I don't know what else it could be. Let me know what you think!!!!
