96 stuck in 4H
My blazer is stuck in 4H. When I push the 2WD button I can hear a relay pull in, but it doesnt change over. Where do I go next.

Re: 96 stuck in 4H
What transfer case does it have?
Does the front Axel lock and unlock? What shifting lights are flashing or on or off. Have you checked wiring and fuses? Have you tried stopping and backing up or going to neutral? Are your tires matched up good?

Re: 96 stuck in 4H
I'm not sure what case it has. The 4H light is on, when you push the 2WD button it flashes for a second, you can hear a relay activate and the 4H light stays on. It is in 4WD front axel engaged.

Re: 96 stuck in 4H
I admittedly do not know a lot about the transaxles but I had a similar problem with my '98 Blazer. Via this forum's advice, I disconnected the battery for about 5 minutes, sort of a hard reset on the computer, and all worked fine since.
Might be worth a try. Bob |
