2001 cvpi 70k low power
Hi all, I recently picked up this car and it had been sitting for some time. It runs a little rough at idle but not too bad. I checked all the plugs and coils and everything looks pretty clean in that area. Once you put it in drive it knocks and moves pretty slowly. Puzzling part to me is there is absolutely no codes even after I've let it idle for over an hour. My guess is there might be a plugged cat and some stail gas but I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thank you

i would agree with a plugged cat... muffler shops will usually flow test them for free for you

Re: 2001 cvpi 70k low power
A friend told me that bad COP's will not trigger a CEL until they are under a certain amount of load, could the COP's being bad cause the engine to knock and have low power?

Do you have a scanner that can read the mode$06 data? If so, you can tell which cylinder has the most misfires.

Re: 2001 cvpi 70k low power
Hey W20, no I do not have access to that scanner. I have a friend that has the ford toughbook but I have to get the car over there so it's really just trial and error at this point. I actually have a box of cop's that I can switch out and see if that's the issue first I just haven't had much time with it yet. If I can't figure it out soon, I'll just truck it over there but I figured I'd ask you guys first. Great to hear from you.
