Want to die...
I finished up my t04B 57 trim install the other night. This morning I filled it up with fluids and what not. Started it up and let it warm up. The damn thing is still pouring out white/blue smoke out of the exhaust. On top of that, something got shorted out during the install process. The problems are as follows:
1. Head lights stay on 2. Power windows do not go up 3. Power locks do not work 4. CD player will not turn on 5. Altenator/Choke fuse(100amp) blown On top of all this. One of the AN fittings for the oil return I was supplied with for the install is dripping oil. I'm so very close to being done with the car modification world all together. So far everytime I get one thing fixed another things breaks. The process keeps going on. Basically, got a new head(block goes), got a new block(turbo goes), got a new turbo(electrical system pisses in my face) and the sob still smokes... Shoot me.

Re: Want to die...
Okay so I don't want to die anymore. I replaced the fuse and it fixed the electrical problems like I hoped it would. The car stopped smoking for the most part. I think it was just the residue left in the IC, IC pipes, intake, TB, and intake manifold. The car still smokes a little under boost and higher rpms but I can't tell if its blue smoke or just black from it not being fully tuned. However, the oil return line is still dripping. I would like to just order a whole new return line kit more or less because I hate the AN fittings. I had a hell of a time getting it together and now it leaks. Where I capped off for the coolant feed is leaking now too so, I need to find a better way to cap it off other than a short piece of hose with a bolt and hose clamp on it. Maybe I'll stick around in the car modding world for a little longer

Re: Want to die...
Get it tuned and then see if it still smokes. Its probably from running rich. -An fittings are good stuff and shouldn't be leaking. Your bolt idea wasn't good considering the threads are going to let coolant leak by. Either put something on the bolt or use a rod or something.

Re: Want to die...
Your're oil return line gaskets are probably not sealing correctly. After 3 turbo installs and countless hours fixing oil return leaks I got so tired I actually spent $50 and at the Hyundai Service deparmant and had them fix it with a 1 year 12,000 warrenty.
Why didn't you put on a 1g no-turbo water pipe when you had the turbo off?? Try JBweld, shits bullet proof.

Re: Want to die...
The reason the coolant feed plug was leaking is because the hose was old and worn. It actually split. I bought a brand new section of hose and put the bolt in there then put two hose clamps on it. It is sealing fine now.
I think the cause for the oil return line leaking is maybe when I put the inside piece of the AN fitting it may have backed out the hose on the inside. I have come across another problem now. My Greddy Type S BOV is acting up. When shifting or letting off the gas I no longer have a clean crisp blow off. Now it just flutters for like 5-7 seconds. The car is also jumping/hesitating/stuttering. I think most of it is because of the BOV is messed up and the rest of it is because its not tuned yet. The smoke it was blowing was Blue smoke therefore it was oil. The smoke at idle has finally gone away though. So I think it was just burning out the oil residue from the old turbo. As of now I need to fix: 1. BOV possibly stuck open 2. Oil return leak 3. Need a 90 degree 2" silicone coupling for the IC piping If anyone has this coupling laying around I would be glad to buy it from you. As for the BOV I'm going to try and turn the hardness setting almost all the way to soft and drive it, then turn it to hard again. If the BOV is stuck open this may fix it. Quote:

Re: Want to die...
Just take the Greddy BOV apart and take a look. It's not exactly a feat of science, and it's easy to put back together. But you may need to do the spring mod. I had to remove the lighter spring out of my Greddy to get it to work right after a while.

Re: Want to die...
Could you explain the "spring mod" a little more to me? Sorry, I have heard people talking about this same exact thing. I just never worried about it. One of those things I bought, put on, and never worried about again.
