Arrow Low coolant.

Well the low coolant light came on but the gauge is still showing alright. So I'm going to change the coolant ASAP and put fresh in and top it off. I have questions like where the rad valve is to drain it, if I should run water through it to clean it before refilling, how much 50/50 will it take? Thanks.

Re: Low coolant.

dude the low coolant light doesn't mean your rad is low, just check the plastic coolant jug level that is where the sending unit is. you might just have to top it off.

Yeah I'm going to do a flush and refill anyway though. Anyone know where the drain is at and how much 50/50 it will take?

Re: Low coolant.

If you're low, then you may have a leak. You are better off filling with water or the cheapest 50/50 you can find. If the level doesn't change over the next month, the drain via the plug (or lower hose). I usually use 100%.

(Mine was low last month. I ended up replacing the water pump.

Re: Low coolant.

Dude u might wanna be careful, those Gm engine are horrible when it comes to lower intakes, make sure your intake is not leaking, thats the biggest issue with those engines, thats where your coolant may be going if you dont see a visable leak on the ground, u might wanna check your radaitor, hoses, and coolnat bottle, make sure you sensor didnt get jamed when u drove a big bump or something.

No noticeable leak whatsoever. I saw the light once, and haven't seen it since but am going to do a flush and fill anyway. It won't take more than two jugs of Prestone 50/50 will it? That would be a lot if it would...
