Post 1.8L Oil DRIP

i just bought the car and i notice a little bit of oil on the ground. i checked the valve cover and no leaks there. the leak is coming from the back of the engine under the intake manifold on the driver side. what could cause that would it be the rear main seal. If anyone knows i would be very thankful and also if you know what it is would it be very difficult to change or expensive thanks a lot

The rear main seal is between the engine and transmission. It seals up the rear end of the crankshaft, hence the name. Possible head gasket from where you're describing but I'm not really sure. An oil leak can look like its coming from somewhere when it really isn't. I am not too familiar with the 1.8.
