New engine and re-build engine kits sites?

Hey everyone what's up, been awhile since I've been on here. I've been debating if I want to fix up my 95' gs eclipse or not. Than I said what the hell, turbo kits are cheap and I'm sure new engines are to. So would any one know any web sites on eclipse engines or what not. ANYTHING would help, thanks!

Re: New engine and re-build engine kits sites?

What are you talking about? Are you looking for a website about the 420a, or are you looking for a website where they sell parts for the 420a? And you think turbo rebuild and motor rebuild kits are cheap? You MUST be made of money, because I can assure you that they add up very, very quickly.

Re: New engine and re-build engine kits sites?

well I guess I'm looking for parts for a 420a... I mean it would be cool to find a site that makes them fully modified and high end already for you and you just buy them. And from what I am seeing turbo kits are like $2,000 and you rebuild a engine it's like $5,000... I'm a welder so I make good money, but I have to bust my ass to earn it. So maybe that's why I think it's cheap.

Re: New engine and re-build engine kits sites?

You bring me your car, $7000, and I'll make it so damn fast you won't be able to keep your hands on the wheel. Sounds like you need to do a lot of reading up buddy, money can go a long ways, but without knowing what you're doing, it won't last very long. Sure you can build the hell out of a car, but do you know ALL the parts you need and how to make everything work together? Buying/installing the parts is the easy part, learning how to make it all work correctly is the tough part that can take years of experience to get good at.

Re: New engine and re-build engine kits sites?

Well I know some what about cars, I just started getting into them last year. I worked on to AWD Talons already my brother completley re-built his then a friend needed help putting a evo 3 engine in his. So I have some what experience. I've been working on a 92' honda prelude the past couple of months with a friend. But as far as my car goes, I haven't done anything to it yet except put a cool air injen intake on and dcs headers. Nothing big, I haven't left for the road yet for welding so at the moment I have no money. But I figure I'd ask about the sites so I can get an idea on how things work and how much things cost. I do appriciate you guys helping me out though. Like you said money isn't everything it is how to know your car. That's why I want to build it myself instead of some one else doing it, than I would know nothing about it.

Re: New engine and re-build engine kits sites?

Hey thanks guys, I mean I make $1,400 a week when I am on the road. But I'm waiting at the moment to be called, soo I'm dead broke right now haha. But one more qestion. Would it be worth to put the money into the GS or just sell it, take that money and put some extra in and just get a AWD Tsi 95'?

Re: New engine and re-build engine kits sites?

Ditch the GS and get one that is already turbo and AWD... It'll be so much cheaper to build it up than it would be to build up a N/A one and turbo it...

Alright, I'll just give it to my father. Lmfao yeah, well it's not EVERY WEEK it's when ever they call me sometimes I can be gone for a month or 2... but I can claim unemployment wich would be $300 a week. But I thought about saving up and getting a Evo 8

Re: New engine and re-build engine kits sites?

My buddys got a 4G63T motor out of a 1996 TSI (FWD) Talon that he wants to sell for 800, its stock. And needs some minor work (like belts being changed, spark plugs, cleaned up) when it was pulled it ran nice.
