Question Sonoma 2.2 turbo

Hi there. My brother owns a 99 GMC Sonoma (auto) and is going to put some work into it. It's in great condition and he loves it. We're considering putting together a turbo kit for it. I come from the Eagle Talon/Eclipse forum on AF and have an extensive knowledge of builds, turbos and so on. I do have some questions about the 2.2 engine, which I searched and have not seen addressed properly. Basically we plan on running around 6-11psi

How much hp can the stock 2.2 handle? Basically, will the stock internals allow for 6-11psi of boost on daily driving with no issues?

So far what I drawn up for him is the following:
-T3/4 turbo
-Log-style Manifold
-External Wastegate (atmosphere dump)
-FMIC
-2.5" hard piping
-MBC
-SAFC
-2.5" or 3" exhaust with Y-to-dual tips
-Boost gauge/EGT/possible Wideband
-BOV (atmosphere dump)
-AFPR

My question is, on some cars (such as mine for example) the MAP sensor needs an override called the Missing Link, so the added pressure from the boost doesn't cause fuel cut. Do these trucks require something similar, or some kind of hack?

Next, will the fuel pump need to be upgraded then also? I figure stock injectors should work fine, and with the AFC controller and the AFPR, it should be good.

Please let me know. Thanks for you help!

Re: Sonoma 2.2 turbo

Hey I'm kinda new on here but I have messed with a few turbo cars befor and using a T3/4 turbo on a stck bottom end is a little over kill. I too had the same ideal but only on my vortec 4.3L making like a STS system, but not with that big of a turbo. As far as the injectors, I would imagine they would have to be changed along with the fuel pump too. by the way good list of mods on your talon.
