Trunk Release

On my 01 alero (3.4L 85000 miles) the trunk will not pop for the remote or the button on the drivers side door. The relay will click but nothing will happen. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Kevin

Re: Trunk Release

Isn't there a spring built into the latch? Sounds like it's broken. Or, maybe the hinges need lubed.

Re: Trunk Release

A common problem is the trunk release relay located at the driver's side fuse box. The clicking does not mean the contacts are good. Only that the relay coil is energizing. Had the same problem, replaced the relay and the trunk pops open like a champ.
