radiator emergency (it won't plug in?!)

Ok, on my caprice classic, my radiator reservoir has TWO hoses on the top, one that connects to the radiator, and one that goes to the pump..

got a new radiator, and it doesn't have a plug for the skinny hose!

So, what do I do with the skinny hose? Plug it? Or do I bring the radiator back (which was bought online mind you), and tell them it doesn't really fit the Caprice Classic.

We ordered it right to my model car, engine, year, etc.

Well apparently that's the "aeration vent", and the radiator people gave us the wrong one.. My fathers working it out with them to get it replaced ASAP.

We tried plugging the extra hose, and almost within 5 minutes of running the car, it got red hot (by the gauge).. (atleast my temp gauge works)

From expierence, my advice is to never buy something like a Radiator from the internet. It's always good to purchase a vehicle-specific part from a place where you can look at that part in hand and compare it to the original to be 100% sure you have the correct one.

Well right now, this morning, I got the car to suck in the anti freeze (i had to rev it up high to do that).

My father was told the aeration tubes aren't needed, and make the engine cool better without it.. No idea though.
