lol Max Boost?

ok, so i did the search and couldnt find the answer to this, and i know what you guys are thinking after reading the title, and as you are reading right now "what a fu*k-tard! we've covered this 100000X!" well, not exactly! as most of you know i got the DSMlink running, and i want to go about some tunning, but i want to keep it safe because with my fuel setup, i can easly max out the turbo, but other shit will break on the path to "turbo-sos-maximus"! so... my weakest link right now is the factory headstuds/gasket... and was wondering where i need to be to be quick (about 300hp) but not dangerous to the headstuds... lask thing i need is a blown headgasket... i know all this is "depending on tune" but i want to know exactly how much boost i can push with the factory headstuds/gasket on a "perfect" tune. (not that i'm going to do it, i just want to make sure i'm still safe) i'mma see if the stock MAS will log airflow, so i can boost as low as i can, but still get the maximum airflow (allowed by factory headstuds/gasket) out of the turbo... thanks guys!

Headstuds, gasket, cams, cam gears will be changed with the timming belt job (1st one!!!) in about 2k miles.

I would keep 'er to a conservative 15-16 lbs I think. A lot of boost can actually raise the 2g headstuds and I cant remember what it is, but its definately not worth looking for if you just have 2k miles to go before you're getting a new one.

Factory gasket/head bolts will be fine on your evo316g. I'm still using mine with my E316g 22psi, Meth injection, Jmfab smim, 272 cams. I wouldn't worry about changing the head bolts to studs untill your flowing 50lb + regaurdless of boost pressure

I agree with scott, unless you're flowing some serious numbers, I wouldn't be too worried about the HG, the stocker is pretty good for supporting the 16g's and if you only have 2k to go, even if running it at 20-25, the HG should hold just fine. It's not like you're going to be making 10 track runs a day for the next 2k miles, yaknowhatimsayin?

The HG will do well over 30 psi if tuned right, but the stock stretchy bolts won't. Most people lift around 20-22 psi, but it really depends on the tune. Timing has a bigger effect on peak cylinder pressure than boost! If you have DSMlink or similar, just keep timing down to 15 degrees or so peak and you should be fine to over 20 psi, especially without cams. In the old days with AFCs and larger injectors you could easily be running 23 degrees of timing at 20-25 psi because you had no control over it...

yes, running link, so if i keep my timming under 15 deg, i'll be fine at 20+psi on stock studs/gasket?

No guarantees, and boost pressure is pretty meaningless in this discussion, but yes, the odds are with you.
