2000 GA not starting

My daughter has a 2000 grand am that will not start. It won't even turn over or click like it would if the battery was low. All lights work and the gauges move back and forth when trying to start, and once the horn started blowing everytime the key was turned. Any ideas?

I think it is in the alarm locking mechanism. I wish it was never installed in these cars. I have taken the car to the dealership since I have no way of figuring it out.

Re: 2000 GA not starting

Ok now that it's at the dealership it starts every time and they didn't want to put in the shop because it would cost me money. I'm thinking it must be the passlock. There has to be a way to bypass this I read one tread about puting a toggle switch in the yellow wire, does this work or is there another way?
